The power cords manufactured by Xuanhua Industrial are mainly composed of three layers:
A. Outer Sheath
The outer sheath, also known as the protective jacket, is the outermost layer of the power cord. This layer serves to protect the cord and possesses robust characteristics such as high-temperature resistance, low-temperature resistance, anti-interference from natural light, excellent flexibility, long service life, and environmentally friendly materials.
B. Inner Sheath (Insulation Layer)
The inner sheath, also referred to as the insulation layer, is the material wrapped between the shielding layer and the conductor core. It is typically made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyethylene (PE) plastic. This layer is an essential intermediate structural part of the power cord. As the name implies, its primary function is insulation, ensuring the electrical safety of the cord by preventing any current leakage between the copper wire and the air. The material of the insulation layer must also be pliable to ensure it fits well within the intermediate layer.
C. Conductor
Common conductive materials include metal wires made of copper or aluminum. The conductors in our company’s power cords are generally copper wires. The copper wire primarily serves as the carrier for current and voltage, and its density directly affects the quality of the power cord. The material of the copper wire is also a crucial factor in quality control, with the quantity and flexibility of the copper strands being important considerations as well.
